수업목표

2024년 2학기 “영국경험론의문제”에서는 데이비드 흄을 다루다. 흄은 영국 경험론의 대표적인 철학자이자 사회과학자였다(당시 natural philosophy가 자연과학을 의미했다면, moral philosophy는 사회과학을 의미했다). 즉, 그는 심리학, 경제학, 사회학, 인류학을 연구한 동시에, 그러한 사회과학적 지식의 경험적 정당화의 문제를 깊이 있게 탐구했다. 이번 학기 수업에서 우리는 주로 흄의 『인간의 이해력에 관한 탐구』와 『도덕 원리에 관한 탐구』를 읽을 것이다. 학생들은 매주 책의 해당 부분과 함께 그 주제에 대한 다양한 해석을 담은 논문들을 읽으며 본인의 해석과 비교하는 기회를 가질 수 있을 것이다.

수업방법과 평가방법

수강생은 정해진 읽을거리를 읽고 요약문과 질문을 제출해야 하며, 수업 시간에는 발제와 토론을 진행할 것이다(평소학습 30%). 중간고사(30%)에서는 『이해력』 및 그에 대한 논문의 이해도를 확인할 것이다. 학생들은 수업에서 다룬 주제들 중 하나를 선택하여 흄에 대한 소논문(분량 A4 7~12쪽)을 제출해야 한다(기말보고서 30%). 

평가 : 출석(10%) / 평소학습(30%) / 중간고사(30%) / 기말보고서(30%)
